CONTRIBUTOR PERL PROGRAMMER

General Description

Under general supervision develop, code, test and debug new moderately complex software solutions or enhancements to existing software in a maintenance capacity. Have good understanding of business application. Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them. Resolve customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. May assist developing software technical documentation. Demonstrate software. Design and code moderately complex applications using routine and/or advanced technology. May create optimization programs to resolve problems. May design and build prototype applications.

Requirements

  • At least 2-4 years of experience working in Perl and Linux environments.
  • If not a PHP Developer, willing to move to Perl developing.
  • Strong knowledge in Object Oriented Programming.
  • At least 2 years of experience in web application development (HTML, JavaScript, Web Services).
  • Strong knowledge in Relational Database Design concepts.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as SVN and Git.
  • Must be able to design and architect solutions.
  • Write software, manage projects.
  • A Bachelor of Computer Sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to work both with little or no supervision and in a managed team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
